Courses run in the studio (in-person), Macclesfield
A small class of up to 4 people in the studio
Places are limited so this is a unique opportunity to receive lots of one-to-one tuition and support and be part of a small supportive group
Classes are run on a termly basis (courses 4-10 weeks). Sign up per course.
The classes focus on learning, exploring and developing fundamental skills including: Draughtsmanship through observational drawing or painting using a range of media and working from a variety of subject matter; Techniques such as shading, proportioning/ measuring, reduction drawing, painting techniques, collage, wax resist, mixed media; Exploring line, light, tone, texture, negative space, shape, scale, volume; Using media such as charcoal, pencil, pastel, graphite, watercolour, acrylics, pen and ink (depending on the course); Exploring mark-making, expressive techniques and approaches to loosen things up, abstraction, realism and much more. These classes will help you to learn the underpinning skills and support you to explore your own uniqueness in using them.

Wednesday Night Drawing Class
Working from observation with a range of drawing media and subject matter to develop sound drawing skills and drawing exploration.

One-Offs
Beginners Drawing Masterclass
A 3-day course over 3 consecutive Saturdays to learn the basics of drawing from mark-making to perspective. An immersive course full of techniques and approaches to get started.
Dates: 10 - 24 May 2025 (weekly on a Saturday over 3 weeks) class limited to 4 people

ABOUT THE COURSES
The courses are limited to four people and will take place in the studio in Macclesfield. You can sign up for just one course (4-10 weeks) or you may wish to attend on an ongoing basis to immerse in your practice with the ongoing support.
As such this will be an evolving class and the course content will be tailored accordingly based on the dynamics, learning aspirations and needs of the group, as well as the focus of the particular course. My focus is your creative development and how I can share the knowledge and skills that I have acquired over many years to help you to develop skills and creative self-confidence to grow as an artist.
Suitable for: Adults (Age 19+) No prior creative experience is needed. This class is suitable for all levels of ability, just a keen enthusiasm to learn and explore.

The studio is located on the first floor with stair access only. Therefore, unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible. It is advisable to discuss any disability or accessibility needs you may have prior to booking.
